Can I sublet my flat in Czechia?
It depends on whether you live there yourself. If you permanently live in the rented flat, you may sublet part of it (a flatmate) even without the landlord's consent — that right can't be taken away. If you don't live there or want to sublet the whole flat, you need the landlord's written consent; ask in writing, and no reply within one month counts as consent (unless the lease expressly bans subletting). Subletting without required consent is a gross breach of duties — grounds for termination. Note that subtenants enjoy weaker protection: their rights end with your lease.
