New or bigger grid connection in Latvia: how long may it take and who do I complain to?
A new home, a heat pump, a charging point or solar panels can need a new or bigger connection. The grid operator does this work, and many countries set deadlines and rules on costs.
📜 The rules in Latvia
Grid connection
For a new or changed connection, the grid operator (mostly Sadales tīkls) must give you technical requirements within 20 days of your application, and connect your installation within 10 days after you report it is ready. The cost is the zone's rate per load unit times your permitted load, plus connection costs.
- These SPRK connection rules were adopted on 23 April 2026 and apply from 1 May 2026. (likumi.lv)
