Am I allowed to ride an e-scooter in Sweden?
Yes — but only if the e-scooter counts as a bicycle. That means no more than 20 km/h and no more than 250 W. Then you ride on the cycle path, or the roadway where none exists — not on the pavement. Since 1 September 2022, riding and parking on footpaths/cycle paths outside marked bays is banned. A helmet is mandatory under age 15, and only one person may ride. More powerful models count as motor vehicles and need a licence and registration.
