Can I build a garage or shed without applying in Norway?
Some small building works are exempt from applying, but most need an application. Under the building regulation (SAK10 §4-1) you can put up a detached building up to 50 m² without applying — a garage, shed, greenhouse or hobby room — as long as it is not used as a dwelling (no kitchen, living room, bedroom or bathroom).
