Taking more fish out of the country than the quota allows brings seizure of all the fish, not just the excess, and a police report. The 15 kg quota also applies only when the fish leaves via a registered fishing business that can document the catch — travel on your own with a full cool box and you have no quota to point to. Fishing salmon, sea trout or char in fresh water without the fee paid or a valid permit is an offence, and fines are set case by case. Both the permit and the receipt for the fee must be produced if you are checked.
