Can I buy and use fireworks for the holidays?
Very limited: individuals can use only category F1 fireworks. Since August 2025, through Law 92/2025 amending the regime of explosive materials, individuals can no longer buy for personal use or use pyrotechnic articles from categories F2, F3, F4, T1, T2, P1 and P2 — the firecrackers and powerful fireworks usually set off at New Year's fall into these banned categories. Individuals are allowed only category F1 articles (e.g. Christmas-tree fireworks, sparklers). Categories F2–F4 are reserved exclusively for authorised pyrotechnicians, and organising firework displays is allowed only with the approval of the city hall, the emergency-management inspectorate and the police. Using pyrotechnic articles is banned between 24:00 and 06:00, except for authorised periods.

For displays, use authorised pyrotechnicians.
