Do I need a permit for a garden pool in Czechia?
Mostly no — the new Building Act (effective 1 July 2024) freed up small structures. A pool up to 40 m² of built-up area (previously 25 m²) at a family house or recreation building needs neither a permit nor notification — conditions: it sits on the building plot and keeps at least 2 metres from the boundary. The same applies to greenhouses and garden sheds up to 40 m². Above 40 m², away from the house plot (a meadow), or in heritage zones, the classic proceedings apply. Pool water goes to the sewer per municipal conditions — chlorinated water doesn't belong in a stream.
