Where can I smoke or vape in Czechia?
Outdoors mostly yes; indoors the anti-smoking law decides. Since 2017 smoking is banned in restaurants, bars and cafés, at public-transport stops, in schools, hospitals, cinemas, theatres, shopping centres and playgrounds — on-the-spot fines up to CZK 5,000. A Czech quirk: e-cigarettes are exempt in restaurants — vaping indoors is legal unless the owner bans it; at transit stops, schools and healthcare facilities the ban covers vapes too. Since 1 December 2025 stricter e-cigarette rules apply: flavour, composition and labelling restrictions. Anything with nicotine sells from 18 only.
