When do quiet hours apply in Czechia?
By law from 22:00 to 6:00 — and that is all that applies nationwide. Disturbing it is a public-order misdemeanour handled by the municipal police. The most widespread misconception: there is no national Sunday rest. Bans on mowing, sawing or drilling on Sundays and holidays come from municipal decrees, and more towns adopt them every year — typically allowing noisy work on Saturdays only in windows of 8–12 and 14–18 and banning it entirely on Sundays. Before you start the chainsaw, open your municipality's decree; the next village may say the opposite. Fines run up to CZK 10,000, repeat offences up to CZK 30,000. In an apartment building noise has one more price — repeated complaints feed sanctions under the house rules and can support a lease termination.
