Can I park on the pavement?
No: parking on the pavement and other banned spots is sanctioned. Under the new Road Code (Law 5209/2025, in force from 13 Sept 2025), parking on a pavement, square, pedestrian zone, cycle lane or a disabled ramp/space is banned. On a pavement/square/cycle lane the fine is €150 and a 20-day licence removal. In a disabled space or ramp (signs Ρ-71/Ρ-72): €150, removal of licence and plates for 50–60 days and immediate towing. Note the 3-hour rule: illegal parking continuing beyond 3 hours is recorded as a new violation. The old 50% early-payment discount was abolished. In short: don't park on a pavement or in a disabled space.

Not the first time. The first illegal-parking fine is €150. The "up to €2,000" comes only from the repeat-offence ladder: €1,000 on the second violation within 5 years and €2,000 on the third, with longer licence removal.
