Can I vote in Swedish elections in Sweden?
It depends on citizenship and which election, but you must be at least 18 on election day. In national (Riksdag) elections only Swedish citizens may vote, who are or have been registered in Sweden. In municipal and regional elections, Swedish citizens may vote, as may citizens of the EU, Norway and Iceland who are registered in Sweden; other foreign nationals may vote after three consecutive years of registration. In the EU election, Swedish citizens and other EU citizens resident in Sweden may vote. Swedes abroad may vote in national and EU elections but not in municipal and regional ones.
