Am I allowed to use a sunbed if I am under 18 in Denmark?
Today there is no statutory age limit, but an 18-year limit has been passed and takes effect on 1 January 2027. As part of Cancer Plan V, Parliament has introduced an 18-year age limit for public sunbeds with a requirement for an age-control system. The law was passed in 2026, but the age limit itself only takes effect on 1 January 2027, so the industry can adapt. Until then only the Health Authority's recommendation applies that young people should not use sunbeds. From 2027 a tanning centre that gives access to an under-18 or lacks age control can be fined 15,000 kr.
