📦 I am moving house: what happens to my internet contract in Estonia?

The short answer

When you move, the general rules apply: you can cancel any communications contract at any time, effective the working day after the operator receives your notice. Ending a fixed-term contract early can, however, cost a contractual penalty.

When you move, your provider may be able to take the service with you. If it cannot offer the same service at the new address, you may be able to end the contract. The rules for Estonia are below.

📜 The rules in Estonia

The details

  • You have the right to keep your Estonian number when the geographical location of your connection point changes. (riigiteataja.ee)
  • At a new address, an operator offering network connections must tell you within 30 days of your application whether and when it can connect you. It may refuse only on grounds set in law, such as no technical possibility. (riigiteataja.ee)
  • Once you have signed a connection contract and met your own obligations, the operator must let you start using the service within 10 working days. (riigiteataja.ee)
  • TTJA's communications services map shows, address by address, the internet connection options of Estonia's largest operators and the maximum available speed. (ttja.ee)
