What must I get before I sign a phone or internet contract in Denmark, and can I change my mind?
Before you order, the provider must give you a short, easy-to-read contract summary. If that is technically impossible, e.g. in a channel with little space or time, you get it as soon as possible afterwards, and the contract starts only once you confirm (§ 4).
Before you sign, you should get the key terms in writing: price, term, speed and how to leave. In many countries a short contract summary is required, and contracts made online, by phone or at your door usually come with a cooling-off period. The rules for Denmark are below.
📜 The rules in Denmark
The details
- If you order online, you have 14 days to withdraw. You can agree that the right ends earlier if you want to start using the subscription within the 14 days. (forbrug.dk)
- If the provider did not inform you properly about your withdrawal right on a durable medium, the withdrawal period is extended to up to one year after the contract, according to Teleankenævnet. (teleanke.dk)
- After the sale, the provider must confirm the contract on a durable medium before the service starts. The information and the summary are part of your contract and may only be changed by express agreement (§ 4). (retsinformation.dk)
- The contract must state, among other things, delivery times, repair service, compensation and refund terms for faults, compensation for delayed porting and how disputes are settled (bilag 1). (retsinformation.dk)
