I am moving house: what happens to my internet contract in Lithuania?
Moving gives no special right to leave. Providers usually serve the address in the contract, and RRT cannot make them serve your new one. If they cannot and you cancel, it is not their fault, so discounts may be reclaimed before the minimum term ends.
When you move, your provider may be able to take the service with you. If it cannot offer the same service at the new address, you may be able to end the contract. The rules for Lithuania are below.

The details
- Early-termination charges are capped: they must reflect the provider's real losses and may never exceed the monthly fees left to pay until the end of the term. (e-seimas.lrs.lt)
- If you move a fixed line, you can keep your landline number free of charge within the area that has the same area code. (e-seimas.lrs.lt)
- Before you move, check what is available at the new address: RRT's broadband coverage and speed map shows networks by speed level and technology, and Matuok.lt shows measured results. (rrt.lt)
Lietuvos Respublikos ryšių reguliavimo tarnyba (RRT)
Lithuania's telecom regulator. It monitors providers, handles complaints and requests about phone and internet services, and gives free advice by phone or at rrt@rrt.lt.
