📦 I am moving house: what happens to my internet contract in Bulgaria?

The short answer

The Electronic Communications Act has no special rule for moving house, so your contract's terms decide. If your fixed term has already ended, the contract is indefinite and you can end it at any time with one month's notice, without penalties (art. 229а ЗЕС).

When you move, your provider may be able to take the service with you. If it cannot offer the same service at the new address, you may be able to end the contract. The rules for Bulgaria are below.

📜 The rules in Bulgaria

The details

  • You can keep your landline number when you move within the same geographic area code. (damtn.government.bg)
  • During a fixed term, the penalties and compensation for ending early are those in your contract; they must be listed in the pre-contract information you received. (damtn.government.bg)
  • CRC does not examine complaints about the size of the early-termination penalties your provider charges. (crc.bg)
  • CRC's switching rules cover a change of provider at the same address; at a new address the conditions in your contracts apply. (crc.bg)
  • Before moving, check coverage at the new address: mobile providers must publish coverage maps searchable by settlement and address, accurate to at least 100 × 100 m, and show them in their shops. (crc.bg)
