⚖️ My phone or internet provider will not solve my complaint: where can I go for free in Greece?

The short answer

File with the Consumer Ombudsman online with your Taxisnet codes, by post to Λ. Αλεξάνδρας 144, 114 71 Αθήνα, or in person, within one year of becoming fully aware of the problem. It mediates between you and the provider and imposes no penalties.

If your provider does not solve your complaint, an independent body can look at it, usually free of charge for you. You normally have to complain to the provider first; how to file in Greece is below.

📜 The rules in Greece

The details

  • EETT names the Consumer Ombudsman as the competent out-of-court body for contract disputes under Law 4727/2020. EETT itself takes complaints but does not settle individual disputes or award compensation. (eett.gr)
  • The procedure is free for you, in writing and in Greek. Its outcome is not binding. (consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu)
  • If you reach a settlement, the minutes can be filed at the Athens court of first instance and become enforceable. If the provider rejects a written recommendation, it is published with the provider's name. (synigoroskatanaloti.gr)
  • Filing does not interrupt or suspend the legal deadlines for going to court, so keep track of them yourself. (synigoroskatanaloti.gr)
