💶 Amounts
How much each kind of travel claim is worth — flight compensation, baggage, denied boarding, trains and package tours — with the rule that sets the figure.
Flight compensation: €250 / €400 / €600→
The three fixed bands, set by distance — and the only lawful 50% cut.
Baggage: up to ~€1,500 (Montreal)→
Lost, damaged or delayed bags are paid under the Montreal Convention, not EU 261.
Denied boarding: same bands, plus refund or re-routing→
Bumped from an overbooked flight? You get the Art. 7 cash and a choice under Art. 8.
Train delays: 25%–50% of the fare→
EU rail passengers have their own refund scale for long delays.
Package tours: price reduction + compensation→
When a booked package goes wrong, the organiser owes a reduction and, often, damages.
How the amounts stack (and what doesn’t)→
Compensation, refund and care are separate rights — claim all that apply.
