Article 8: reimbursement or re-routing
Cancelled or badly delayed? You choose: your money back, or a new flight to your destination.

When a flight is cancelled, you are denied boarding, or a delay runs to five hours or more, Art. 8 gives you a choice — and the choice is yours, not the airline’s.
- A full refund of the ticket within seven days (plus a return flight to your first departure point if a connection is now pointless), or
- Re-routing to your final destination at the earliest opportunity, or
- Re-routing at a later date that suits you, subject to seats
If the airline only offers a voucher, you can still insist on cash. Choosing a refund does not waive separately owed Art. 7 compensation.
